🚨New Episode Alert 🎉

Get ready for a captivating new episode featuring none other than ‪@walteraparicio2046‬! I had an incredible time recording this upcoming TPP episode with Walter – a talented Pianist, Educator, and the Founder/President of the Foundation for Bolivian Artists. Our connection dates back to our NYU graduate school days in 2007, and delving into Walter's journey and future plans was both meaningful and emotional.

Walter holds a prominent role in contemporary music, advocating strongly for inclusivity in our industry. Ahead of his time, he has been a passionate supporter of diversity in music, particularly focusing on Latin American music and composers since the late 2000s, well before the recent emphasis on diversity in 2020.

What makes Walter stand out is his expertise in the music of Bolivia 🇧🇴. Exploring the beauty of Bolivia through Walter's insights – its unique geography, profound historical background, cultural richness, and legacy of arts and music – was truly enlightening. I've gained a profound appreciation for Bolivia!

Join us in this engaging episode where you'll explore:

🎵 The current global reception of Latin American piano music
🎵 The richness and complexity of “Latin American” music

Walter will take us on a quick trip to Bolivia, introducing its:

🇧🇴 Distinctive cultural traditions or celebrations
🇧🇴 Diverse indigenous cultures
🇧🇴 Distinguishable characteristics or themes found in Bolivian piano music

Later on, he'll introduce us to his initiative: the Foundation for Bolivian Artists @bolivianartistfoundation

🎵 A brief overview of the foundation.
🎵 His motivation and inspiration behind launching this organization
🎵 Current stats in its inaugural year
🎵 Future perspectives

🥳 Meet the guest of Season 3 Episode 20 – David Hackbridge Johnson, Composer/Multi-Instrumentalist!
.
.
.
I had the privilege of interviewing Mr. David Hackbridge Johnson, one of the prolific 🇬🇧composers of our time, who has written works in all genres.

His name became known to many classical music listeners worldwide in recent years with one of America's most frequently performed and recorded living composers and Pianists, Mr. Lowell Libermann's solo piano album under the Steinway and Sons label. The title of the album is 😈 The Devil's Lyre, and all the pieces are written by Mr. Hackbridge Johnson.

🎼 He has written over 20 symphonies and tone poems, various chamber, vocal, ballet, opera, and choral music.

🎹 In addition, he has written extensively for the piano, including 18 sonatas, 7 Nocturnes, and many shorter pieces and piano cycles.

🤯 The opus numbers to catalog Mr. Johnson's large-scale works are currently in the 400s. Unfortunately, however, we get to listen to only a handful of recordings of his compositions through YouTube and music streaming services.

I have been a big fan of his music since the release of The Devil's Lyre. So, through this episode, I want to promote his remarkable compositions, not limited to piano works but ranging in different genres, so that many classical musicians, including fellow pianists, will get to know him and start performing and recording his incredible music more often 😍.

📺 This special episode will premiere tomorrow, Tuesday, June 20 at 8:00pm ET on The Piano Pod’s YouTube Channe: https://youtu.be/5AO8rkEAcvE

The new episode of our podcast show will be out in a few hours (Tuesday 11/1 at 8pm ET)! For this episode, we got to interview Mr. ‪@GKOpiano‬, Young Steinway Artist.

George is a concert pianist pushing classical music forward by blending "Chopin-like virtuosity with the vast soundscapes of cinema." His music revolves around improvisation - a practice typically confined to jazz music - which he's brought into the realm of classical music. Many of his songs are one-take improvs, allowing maximum creativity and spontaneity. Steinway has described him as "making classical music accessible and exciting for the masses.”

Join the premiere/livestream via chat! We'd love to meet you on this platform!
