If you are looking for a cool side-hustle have you considered investing in retiring Lego sets?
Once Lego sets retire they can command a good return the following year. So, if you are able to buy a few this year and hold on to them to sell on ebay or even Amazon the following year you can make a good profit.

I have compiled a list of retiring lego sets during Q1-3 of 2023 - most of which you can still buy somewhere.
These have a combination of a good buy price, been popular sets but not had that many sellers on amazon. This is the key for looking for good sets to invest in.
I will be selling 4 of the Lego Saturn V Rocket set I bought last year. I bought them at £105 each and they are now selling for £180 on ebay and over £200 on amazon. I have bought a range of 2023 sets and will sell them in 2024 for a good profit - either on amazon or ebay.
Once a set retires then the only place to buy it from is private sellers and from stores (until they run out). So, the price of these sets goes up - especially close to holidays like Christmas.
There are quite a number of different catagories of Lego - and each has a different return on investment (ROI)
If we have a look at 2022 prices of some retiring sets you can see the average ROI for selling these in 2023
Star Wars - ROI = 29%
examples:
The Mandalorian Imperial Light Cruiser (bought at $109 in 2022) now sells at $210
Boba Fett Helmet (bought at $49 in 2022) now sells at $103
There are some sets that simply sell for around the same but if you have a decent spread of over 8 different sets then the average ROI for star wars lego is 29%
Other catagories:
Technic - 28%
Harry Potter 33%
City 35%
Jurrasic World 33%
etc
It is important to have a diverse portfolio and not go "all-in" on one particular set since it might not retire.
