Upstate Moving Images is documenting The Dakota Nation Unity Ride, originating in Manitoba Canada, as they bring their message of peace and healing to the Hudson Valley this July and August. This epic journey of the horsemen will cover thousands of miles, reaching millions of people.
The opening day of this historic ride begins in Albany on July 27, at Peebles Island. The riders arrive in Kingston on August 1, where there will be a grand gathering with Two-Row Wampum Canoes. They will pass through Poughkeepsie, Beacon, and arrive in Woodstock on August 4, for the International Walk for World Peace. They continue to move south through Sandy Hook, CT on August 5-6, Tallman Mountain State Park on August 7, and Yonkers on August 8. Their journey will culminate on August 9 at the United Nations where they will make a presentation of the International Code for Sacred Sites, promoting healing from years of injustice.
