Ojo Raro is an open platform, a reflexive space towards the animated image and its cultural implications. At Ojo Raro we produce animation for adults, focusing in defiant and disruptive contents, with a queer and south american gaze. We cover a production spectrum from short films to series and feature films, created and directed by authors from the economic south, particularly women, sexual diversities and other minorities historically postponed in authorship and directorial roles. We are interested in hybrid fiction, of multiple genres that go from fantasy and sci-fi to folk horror and erotic cinema.
Ojo Raro puts its gaze upon the monstrous, the anomalous, the twisted, the silenced. It drifts from pre established narrative models to embrace the multiple peripheries of the animated image, to tell the stories we want to tell.
