How I avoid Angry Cleaning
I recently talked about this subject and how Iāve actively avoided it because of the trauma it caused in me as a child
I only saw my parents clean when they got angry
And as much as I donāt clean when Iām angry now, this feels very literally what my brain does when the temptation arises
How I avoid cleaning when angry:
- assess and deal with my anger
- give myself a ātime outā if need be to gain perspective
- purposely clean when I am NOT angry
- have a solid convo with God to get to the root of the anger (itās usually not anger, itās another emotion masking as anger)
- make a list in my head of things Iām thankful for
- clean WITH my daughter to make it a pleasant experience
- give myself attainable cleaning tasks in a day and donāt do more than that so I get fulfilled knowing I completed things
- be more on the minimal side with the amount of things we have
- put on some music that ISNT angry
Some of these set myself up for success in the future and some are more immediate things Iāll do
What I DO absolutely know is I want cleaning and tidying to be a pleasant experience for my daughter so when she is older, cleaning is not something to stress about but something to look forward to
Iāll never say itās easy
But hey, may as well have a laugh about the hard things š¤

HURT PEOPLE HURT PEOPLE
Iāve done it before myself
And I think if you are truly honest with yourself, youāll know youāve done it too
The best we can do is to give God our hurts
And ACTUALLY let Him heal our hearts
Because when we LET him, then we can show HIS love to others instead of OUR hurt
We all have hurts
People can be so painful
BUT GOD
He is faithful
He is True LOVE
And He cares for you like NO human could
Letās let Him heal us
So we can show others who Jesus truly is
And not just some religion that we take part in

š£ Itās not that easy
Itās a step in the right direction SURE
But I noticed that as I kept saying I didnāt want to continue the same things my parents did that cause so much childhood trauma, I wasnāt really changing
Sitting in my trauma actually was CAUSING me to continue what they had done
š” then I had a lightbulb moment
You canāt break the cycle until you WORK on healing the trauma
So saying you donāt want to be like the person that caused you the trauma is like admitting thereās a problem
But the next step is:
What are you going to do about it???
Anyone thatās been dealt the childhood trauma card, sitting in it will only make it worse.
And I know, weāve had to fight to keep going for so long
But now itās time to learn to thrive
And only YOU can make that choice
