"What is the Qin? Tang·Gu Yan Zhi" is the first work of the "Zide Dynasties Concert Series", which has been touring major cities in China since 2020.
The storytelling style、gorgeous and sophisticated visual presentation highlight the majestic style of the times and inspire the audience's endless reverie about the Tang Dynasty.
The repertoire of this concert includes: Guqin solo "Flowing Water", Guzheng solo "鐵馬吟", Pipa solo "Xu Lai", Instrumental ensemble "Liangjiang" and "Drunken fishermen singing in the sunset", etc.

Percussion music has a long history in China –– archeological discovery dates a bronze drum back to the Shāng Dynasty (about 17th century–11th century BC ). History of thousands of years has brought percussion music to its modern times. Chinese percussion music, together with other traditional Chinese music has gone onto the international stage with its own charm.

We will be colaborating with five Chinese female percussionists based in Europe:Chén Lín, Hú Shèngnán, Wáng Bèibei, Wáng Xīzǐ, and Zhāng Xī. We are hoping to recreate on stage the fantasy of the world of swordsmen with traditional Chinese music.

Zide Guqin Studio is an outstanding traditional instrumental ensemble in China. It was founded on October 8, 2014, by a group of young musicians who gathered together because of their shared love for traditional Chinese culture. The guqin is one of the oldest musical instruments in China. It is lofty and tranquil and was favored by the literati throughout Chinese history. Because of its loftiness, the instrument has oftentimes been only appreciated by a small number of people. Today, the guqin has crossed the ocean with music videos produced by Zide, introducing a style of “music in old paintings.” These videos have been enthusiastically welcomed by millions of viewers of different cultural backgrounds from all over the world. In the videos, musicians play Chinese instruments, wearing costumes and makeup in ancient styles. Zide Qinshe, with the aim of transmitting traditional Chinese culture, wishes to bring classical Chinese arts into everyday life and introduce it to the whole world.
