Can You π« Someone for Destroying Your Property in Texas? π€
I recently came across an interesting question: In Texas, is it legal to shoot someone who's destroying your property?
According to Texas Penal Code Section 9.42, deadly force to protect property is allowed, but only under certain conditions:
1οΈβ£ You must first be justified in using non-deadly force (under Section 9.41).
2οΈβ£ Deadly force is only justified if you reasonably believe it is immediately necessary to:
Prevent arson, burglary, robbery, theft, or criminal mischief during nighttime.
Stop a criminal from fleeing with your property under certain circumstances.
What do yβall think about this law? Do you agree with it? Let me know your thoughts! π
