We are celebrating our 100th video today with a very requested subject: Henry VIII. Turns out, he WAS a looker in his youth (just as we all suspected). Tune in for young, old & modern versions now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1Tq0...
The research we did for this week's video actually changed my mind about this controversial portrait of Catherine of Aragon: Check it out! https://youtu.be/MHNzHGv_jQE
Jane Seymour - Henry's favorite wife? The one he loved the most? I've always been a bit bored by Jane within the sparkling lineup of Henry's wives. We don't know much about her personal thoughts and feelings, since she was only Queen for a short time. However, digging into the story of Jane and her son Edward VI for the latest video was fascinating. It makes you really think - was Jane more ambitious than we've been giving her credit for? Or was she really the meek, ordinary wife that Henry VIII wanted? I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the latest!

We posted a short video about the appearance of Elizabeth I today - it's updated for 2024 and includes a brand new re-creation of the Queen :) Head on over https://youtu.be/MU6jWgZO72Q
Some of my favorite subjects to learn about are those that are interwoven with history in ways you would never guess. Today's video about Lorenzo and Giuliano de Medici was like that. We discovered in our research that Giuliano *may* have had a love affair, and at the very least a friendship, with Simonetta Vespucci, the muse of Boticelli and the model for some of his most famous works, like the Birth of Venus. Simonetta was also cousin to Amerigo Vespucci - the explorer for whom "America" is named after. Another interesting one was that Giuliano was the father to a very famous Pope - Clement VII. You may remember clement from the Tudor drama - he was the one that Henry VIII was working against when trying to separate from the Catholic church.

The Louvre just completed a fabulous restoration of the famous Holbein portrait of Anne of Cleves. It's amazing how vivid the colors are! What do you think of the restoration? Slide 1 is after the restoration, and slide 2 is before cleaning.
Empress Sisi video is out now. Truly one of my favorite subjects we've worked on lately. What a funny, quirky personality Sisi had. She was a joy to learn about. https://youtu.be/kjFgzLGr3Gc
