Soooooo on January 13th 2024 I tore my plantar fascia during a Saturday morning Zumba class at LA Fitness. Incidentally it was during one of my most difficult songs “Helicopta” (my last song before cool down) I landed on my foot and thought my Nike Air popped. I felt heat rush through my body and I became nauseous. Needless to say I had a plantar fascia repair, gastrocnemius recession and a bone marrow transfer in March 2024 which was a failure. Months of physical therapy were unsuccessful. My sural nerve was severed during surgery and I’ve developed a nodule in my plantar fascia.
I will be undergoing another surgery in mid January 2025 to repair my sural nerve and clean up the plantar fascia. If everything goes as anticipated I will be back to teaching Zumba at LA Fitness and back to our Zumba videos in April 2025. I look forward to dancing with you again in-person and virtually in 2025!
