Gradually working my way through all those clips from our last year in Belgium--already two years ago--but they're a double-edged sword. Although they bring back strong memories, they make me nostalgic for the days when I thought I'd never run out of new things to see and learn. One thing I was reminded of in a conversation with a friend recently is the power of music to create a mood or to bring an experience to life. I find that finding the right music for a particular video often takes far longer than putting the images together does, and sometimes the music is just as obvious as the nose on my face. Wish the latter were the norm, rather than the former. :-/
YouTube is a great way to share with friends and relatives but, as charming and witty a family as we are, I doubt most people want to see home movies featuring the wacky B-Ps and their assorted weird associates. So...these I've labeled "expanded edition," not to be confused with the "scenic editions," which feature the great destinations without a lot of extraneous family members in evidence. Unless you personally know and particularly love a B-P person--a lot--you'll probably want to stick with the scenic version.
