Nestled amidst the picturesque landscape of Bellevue, Washington, the Seattle Temple is the 19th operating temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Temple grounds are surrounded by a grove of beautiful Washington evergreens and a cascading water feature. The Seattle Washington Temple was the first temple built in the Pacific Northwest and first in the state of Washington.
Here are some fun Temple Facts!
The Seattle Washington Temple is one of only five temples featuring an angel Moroni statue holding the gold plates. (The other four temples are the Los Angeles California Temple, the Washington D.C. Temple, the Jordan River Utah Temple, and the Mexico City Mexico Temple.)
Because the Seattle Washington Temple would be situated near the Bellevue Airfield, the proposed height of the spire was reduced, and a red strobe warning light was installed at the base of the angel Moroni statue. When the airfield closed in 1983, the light was permanently shut off and later removed.

On August 9, 1975, President Spencer W. Kimball announced the building of a temple in Tokyo at an area conference held in the Nappon Budokan Arena in Tokyo. Before the prophet and his translator could finish the announcement, the congregation broke into spontaneous applause. They lifted their hands high in support of the proposal and wiped away tears of gratitude.
On September 29, 2017, the Tokyo Japan Temple closed for a nearly five-year renovation. In addition to mechanical and seismic upgrades, floor plan improvements were made, especially in the baptistry. The building was redecorated with new furniture and furnishings that reflect the Japanese style of Shibui. Light fixtures were inspired by traditional Shoji lanterns with glass that looks like rice paper. The vibrant carpets were inspired by traditional kimono patterns, including in the bridal room. A two-week open house was held prior to the rededication of the Tokyo Japan Temple from June 3 through June 18, 2022.

Saints throughout Latin America were overjoyed by the announcement of a temple in South America. At the time, members were expected to raise one-third of the cost of a new temple. With so many having so little, members made extraordinary sacrifices to raise money. One memorable donation was a gold dental bridge presented by an Argentine man to a pair of missionaries. They declined the gift at first, saying they couldn't take the man's teeth, but he responded, "You can't deny me the blessings I will receive by giving this to the Lord for his temple."

The Ogden Utah Temple was the first temple dedicated in the state of Utah, as the four previous temples were dedicated in Utah Territory over 78 years earlier.
The announcement of the Ogden Utah Temple and Provo Utah Temple was prompted by a statistic computed in the mid-1960s that 52 percent of all ordinance work was performed in three temples: the Logan Utah Temple, the Manti Utah Temple, and the Salt Lake Temple.
On February 17, 2010, the Church held a news conference to announce that the Ogden Utah Temple would undergo a complete renovation, transforming the existing structure into a beautiful new east-facing, stone-clad temple with art glass windows. The London England Temple is located about 25 miles south of London and is the 12th operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Several buildings share the siteāmost notably a three-story, 40-room Elizabethan-style mansionāknown as the Manor House, which has served various purposes for the Church over the years including patron housing and missionary training center.
Here are some fun Temple Facts!
President David O. McKay, who took personal interest in every phase of development of the London England Temple, chose the exact location on the 32-acre site where it stands today. He was particularly impressed with an ancient oak tree on site (at least 450 years old) and instructed that it be preserved. Workmen called the tree the "David O. McKay Oak" and attached a plaque in his honor. In his modesty, President McKay asked that his name be removed, but the name of tree persists out of esteem for this prophet of the Lord.
The overwhelming response to the London England Temple open houseāmarked by moments of over a thousand people waiting in line to get insideāprompted leaders to extend the open house another three days for a total of 76,324 visitors.
The London England Temple was dedicated about five months after the Hamilton New Zealand Temple, marking the first time that two dedications were held in the same year.

The Hamilton New Zealand Temple is the 11th operating temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was the first temple built in the Southern Hemisphere and second built in Polynesia, following the Laie Hawaii Temple. At Christmastime, the grounds are filled with a dazzling spectacle of lights and displays.
Here are some fun Temple Facts!
Unique to the New Zealand Temple is that it was primarily built by labor missionaries. As they commenced the building of the temple, they were told to "build it for eternity." Through the contributions and donations from local members, the labor missionaries were able to complete the New Zealand Temple and the surrounding structures, including a secondary school.
On the day of the dedication, an enthusiastic welcoming committee was created to greet President David O. McKay ā ninth President of the Church ā as he exited the plane in Hamilton, New Zealand. In his historic visit, he planned to dedicate not just the first house of the Lord in New Zealand, but the first house of the Lord in all the Southern Hemisphere.
The Prophet dedicated the edifice, originally called the New Zealand Temple, on April 20, 1958. The Church News reported that āan air of wonder hung over New Zealandā to see the temple and accompanying school built.

This channel is intended to focus on temples both dedicated and under construction or announced by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This is not an official account of the church and is simply managed by one who is thrilled about the many temples that are dotting the world and the Gathering of Israel. My prayer is that you might find peace and joy in your life as you look towards the temple and the covenants made within.
"The end for which each of us strives is to be endowed with power in a house of the Lord, sealed as families, faithful to covenants made in a temple that qualify us for the greatest gift of Godāthat of eternal lifeā (āAs We Go Forward Together,ā Ensign or Liahona, April 2018).
