*A miracle story:* Cholent saves lives!

"So here is a real story.
Every Friday we deliver food to various bases. 5000+ meals are prepared every week by our Satmar friend Menachem Teitelbaum. Yes. Related to the Satmar Rebbe. The favorite item of all the fish , meat , dessert etc is a big pot of steaming hot chulent. Takes two chayalim to lift out of my car.

Last week Menachem received a call from a commander in Gaza who called him to say that the chulent is a life saver. Menachem answered that the chulent is really good, but hardly a life saver. The commander, between tears, said it is truly a life saver. Here is what happened.

They were about to enter a building that they thought was hiding a number of terrorists. As they were about to enter the commander said to his soldiers, before we go let's first have some of the chulent. They went back to where the pot of chulent was located, and as they were about to eat that very same building collapsed in a major explosion. The building didn't house terrorists. It was loaded with explosives, a trap for the chayalim. Seems the terrorists were waiting nearby, thought the chayalim had entered the building and triggered the explosion.

So now we have a new maxim. "Chulent tazil m' movet". Cholent saves one from death. Nissim v' niflaot."

Should I remain The Kosher Tourist or rename myself/channel to the Kosher Nomad? I feel like nowadays I tend to spend a lot of in one place and I don't have a permanent residence as of yet.

I know it's been a while since I posted an update here and I'm sorry about that - since my departure from a company I worked almost a decade for, I'm just trying to figure out my next move.

I'm currently in Manila, Philippines. I will more then likely go back to Bangkok, Thailand very shortly. I'm contemplating making some interview-type of videos where I speak to people from the various communities I visit. See what brought them there, how long they've been there, how long they plan to stay, etc. Let me know what you think about this idea. Im not an interviewer, but I suppose there's a first time for everything.

Hope you all don't mind some videos, mainly some shorts I've come across. I'm thinking of making a video with explanations of the historical background of Israel and it's relationship to the Jewish people.

Then again, I've been getting a lot of comments recently from some keyboard warriors and probably some bots. Not to mention there are a number of others out there with more extensive knowledge then I. So I'lll probably skip that video for now.

Comment below and let me know what you think and what you'd like to see.

Shabbat Shalom everyone! This week's Torah portion, Tazria-Metzora, reminds us of the power of our words and actions. It's a timely reminder to be mindful of how we treat others, and the impact our words can have. As I reflect on this week's parsha, I'm reminded of the values that guide my content creation on my YouTube channel, The Kosher Tourist.

My channel is all about exploring the world through a kosher lens and sharing my experiences with others. But it's not just about food - it's about the connections we make with others, and the values that guide us in our daily lives. Whether it's showing kindness to a stranger, or respecting the traditions of other cultures, these are the values that guide me both on and off camera.

So if you're looking for content that's both delicious and meaningful, check out my YouTube channel at youtube.com/@thekoshertourist/videos. Together, we can explore the world and build a more connected and compassionate community.
