Special allocations of Rs 15000 cr made to AP in Budget 2024-25
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fulfilling the promises made in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014.
Here are the key highlights:
Reconstruction of Andhra Pradesh: The budget allocated Rs 15,000 crore for the reconstruction of Andhra Pradesh in fiscal year 2024-25. This financial support aims to address critical infrastructure needs and promote development in the state.
Polavaram Project: The Polavaram Project, a mega-irrigation initiative on the Godavari river, received additional funds. The project not only benefits Andhra Pradesh but also contributes to food security for the entire country.
Vizag Chennai Industrial Corridor: Funds were earmarked for the Vizag Chennai Industrial Corridor, emphasizing essential infrastructure development such as power, water, and railways in the Kopparthi node.
Backward Districts: Special funds were allocated for seven backward districts in Andhra Pradesh, supporting their growth and development.
