I cannot recommend ‪@ForestArchaicCollective‬ 's fantastic deep dive into Maiden Castle and the Durotriges. It follows his fantastic relaxed and easy to listen to style and is incredibly well researched.

Also I'm still alive and will be posting again soon!

As the channel is currently sat at 9,999 subscribers and it's more than likely going to go to 10,000 very shortly I wanted to say thank you all. I realise I've been quiet but between tours, a third child and my research I've found it hard to create! I am working on content and have also been out and about visiting places to inspire and take rest!

Keep well and thank you all for watching!

Back in 2014 at the Roman fort at Binchester, County Durham a silver ring was found with a Christian intaglio. Since then I've on and off contacted all the gold and silversmiths in the region asking them to make a replica, unfortunately carving the gem scared them all away.

Thankfully the Auckland Project have stated making replicas of the Ring (though I had to ask for a bespoke one as my hand is quite a bit larger than the hand of the original owner!).

The carved stone has an anchor, thought to be a reminder of Hebrews 6:19:

19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, 20 where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf.

While the fish reflect Jesus' micicles of the feeding of the 5000 and 3000 (God's provision) as well as the disciples being Fishermen who became Fishers of men (Matthew 4:19). For me this is a lovely replica that reminds me of my faith while connecting to my love of Archeology and British history.

Today I'm filming more episodes. One of my greatest frustrations when filming episodes is that I love the colour green, but we use green screen! Sadly I'd be a floating head!

Would you be interested in episodes with me in historical clothing? I'm teaching at a Anglo-Saxon museum today and it prompted me to ask!

This channel is very much history and archaeology but I know some of you love more modern travel and sightseeing alongside your history. With that in mind one of my friends has a channel called ‪@ForestArchaicCollective‬ which not only covers history but also the in beauty of the site! For those who liked my Plantagenet comment - he visited Avignon so you can immerse yourself in it's history!!

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well! Slight update. I have not dropped off the side of the planet (as much as some of you might desire that!) I am working on episodes that are longer so that this year is easier when I start touring again in March/April. I have to spend more time researching and writing, but once that's done I hope to be able to keep on top of the episodes as we go into the year.

Massively surprised at how well the Anglo-Saxon DNA episode did over the last two weeks- thank you to the Daily Mail, Guardian and Telegraph for some surprisingly bad articles on DNA research I expect!
