🌸 HELP MAUI! 🌸 The island of Maui needs your kōkua (help). 💗🙏🏻
I wanted to share some news with you before posting tomorrowʻs video.
When we filmed the video on Monday, we (O‘ahu) were experiencing high winds - affects from Hurricane Dora that was moving south of our island chain.
The very next day, those high winds and dry conditions brought devastation to the islands of Maui and Hawaii Island. Fast moving fires have destroyed Mauiʻs historical Lahaina Town - businesses gone, 271 structures burnt to ash, homes gone with thousands of residents displaced with no where to go, and not able to return to what might be left. 36 lives have been lost and the number may growing. Families are still looking for loved ones - wanting to make sure they are okay. Wild fires continue on 2 other parts of Maui as well. The entire island is affected. The entire state stands with them broken hearted.
Our islands need help. Being so isolated, we donʻt have enough resources on our own. who are enduring this devastation and consider helping with a donation?
You can go to www.mauicounty.gov/ to give a donation online and see other ways to help the people of Maui and the long road of recovery. Mahalo Nui Loa .🌸💖
