in the future - u will be able to do some more stuff here,,,!! like pat catgirl- i mean um yeah... for now u can only see others's posts :c
i subscribed to Runway Gen-3 to test the quality of the videos. The first thing I wanted to test was its adherance to the prompt. I have a speceific way of structuring my prompt for Midjourney so I stuck to that format. The only additional I made was camera movement. Here is the template
[shot] [camera movement] [subject] [action] [setting] [style]
I thought this process produced some good video and there are were only few I had to rerun, which was good becasuse for $15/month, you get at most one minute-thirty seconds of generation. that comes to $.10 a second. For a hobbyist, that is a bit steep. And if you don't have a means of upscaling, the quality is too low to do anything with other than play around with.
I put AI Video Generation in my "Watch this Space" category becuase until now, it wasn't good enough to invest money and time. I'm still not sure if it is, but at least now I will work with it more often. But it has to get a lot cheaper if it wants to cross the chasm.

The four areas of AI where I am still in a "watch this space" stance.
1. Music.
Yes, some of it can be good, but the quality still needs to compare to what I can get on Envato Elements, Pixaby, or YouTube (search for copyright-free music). I am sure it will get there, but I don't need to add AI music to my workflow.
2. Presentations
I'm good at designing PowerPoint slides and even better at going to Envato Elements, downloading one, and making the necessary edits. The current crop of tools doesn't generate anything inspiring or exciting. It works for a quick scramble, but I need to see more before I embrace it.
3. AI Avatars
Avatars may not be on the list by the end of the year, but at the current rate of video advancements, superb avatars aren't that far away.
4. Video
Speaking of video, I am waiting for Sora. I wasn't willing to spend the time and money to generate AI videos, so all of my trailers still use Midjourney art.
There are a few more things on my list, but I need to use them more to warrant talking about them. However, areas of my creative workflow where I don't use some form of generative AI are becoming rare.

When I started this channel, I thought I was creating a channel for Instructional Designers but decided early on to shift because I wanted to talk to a broader creative audience. The YouTube Gurus would recommend that I niche down, but I didn't know what would resonate because I didn't have an audience. Actually, I wasn't even sure I'd make it to 50 videos. But now that I have almost 100 videos, I think it's time to consider a YouTube strategy.
I haven't paid any attention to the analytics. But I have noticed that when I talk specifically about Photoshop or other software, those videos get hardly any views but the AI-associated videos do better. However, I don't want a pure AI channel because there is so much more to creativity. AI is just another tool.
So, over the next 50 videos, I am going to focus on discussing AI but in the larger context of creativity and creative projects. I am also going to spend more time editing each video because I think I can raise the quality of my videos. I'm not chasing the YouTube algorithm. I will do a breakdown of the analytics after posting 100 videos. I will post a series of Quick Starting mini-courses.
Overall, I am happy with the progress of my channel and appreciate everyone who has taken the time to watch.

A little fun. I went to my digital creation roots. The first image I saw on Midjourney. There are not a lot of elements to the original but I limited my search to 45 minutes to find the assets. Because I've completed so many manipulations, I have a lot of assets on my drive.
It took a total of five hours to find the assets and complete the Photoshop project. It took one minute to generate a new image with a description of the original image. And what's the takeaway?
PRO MIDJOURNEY:
1. There is a serious efficiency improvement in using AI to generate images versus using Photoshop. This is especially true if you need a series of images.
2. If you are not concerned with consistent characters, Midjourney offers a faster workflow.
PRO PHOTOSHOP:
1. Photoshop in the hands of a real artist will provide the best results for commercial projects looking for consistency across the board.
2. There is something to be said for the craft of creating art. Photoshop requires time and patience, and today I had time. I still enjoy opening Photoshop and stretching my skillset.

My AI stories are not a good fit for this channel so I have them on a separate channel.
Battle of the Shadowfen Keep
In the bowels of Shadowfen Keep, beneath the jagged spires that pierced the bleeding dusk, there lay a dungeon known as the Gullet. It was a place where light dared not linger, and hope was but a frail memory. The air hung thick with the stench of despair, and the stones themselves seemed to weep for the souls lost within their embrace.
It was here, in the suffocating darkness of the Gullet, that Sir Cedric of the Silver Mantle found himself. His armor, once a shining testament to his knighthood, was now tarnished with the residue of battle. His sword, an extension of his will, pulsed faintly with a light that refused to succumb to the overwhelming shadow.
The Keep had fallen. Its walls, breached by treachery from within, had succumbed to the Dark Legion's relentless assault. The King and his court had been slaughtered, the royal banners cast down in disgrace. Only the dungeon remained, a final bastion, where the few surviving knights had retreated.
Sir Cedric, alongside his brethren, had taken an oath. They would hold the Gullet, protect the secret passage that lay hidden within its depths—a passage that led to the forest beyond the castle walls, where the future of the kingdom could be reborn.
The Dark Legion knew of this passage, and they hungered for the final death of the realm. The dungeon's gate groaned under the weight of their siege engines, and the air trembled with the thunder of their drums. The battle was imminent, and it promised to be their last.

Just a few videos ago, I bragged about finding a graphic novel style I liked? Well, Midjourney has made my life a lot easier the the Style Reference Parameter. However, there is a bit more to it because I tested it last night and found that while it is good, it's even better with a reference image. I will deep-dive this in my next video.

I worked on an Afrofuturistic short this weekend. I created images using Dall-e 3, Midjourney and Leornado. The one thing that stands out is that Dalle3 comprehends much better than midjourney. This is especially true when you need multiple characters.
I will not the entire process, including the eleven labs voiceover this week.

Join me in my upcoming live stream tomorrow at 6 PM CST where we delve into the multifaceted process of bringing a story from a mere concept to a vividly realized narrative.
What we'll explore:
Concept Creation: We'll start at the very beginning, discussing how to conceive a compelling concept for a story.
Story Iteration: Learn about the process of iterating on a story, refining ideas, and evolving the narrative.
Final Draft: I'll walk you through the steps to polish a story and prepare the final draft.
Scene Construction: Discover how to create detailed scenes that will form the backbone of the story's environment.
Character Development: We'll talk about developing in-depth character descriptions that add depth and realism to the narrative.
Image Prompts: I'll show you how to generate image prompts that can inspire and guide the visualization of the story.
Custom Instructions: Understand the importance of custom instructions in the creative process and how they can be used effectively.
GPT-3.5 vs. GPT-4: I'll explain why I choose to use GPT-3.5 for certain tasks and GPT-4 for others, highlighting the strengths and use-cases of each.
This live stream is perfect for writers, creators, and anyone interested in the storytelling process. Whether you're looking to write your first story or seeking to enhance your current skills, this session will provide valuable insights into the creative process.

I used Midjourney, Generative Fill in Photoshop Beta, the new Replace tool and Adobe Express to create this.
A video coming soon showing how we can pull all of these tools together to create something new.
