Mac Learners, Get Ready to Dive Deep!

This July 11 and 12, I’m hosting a live online workshop with Maine Media College, designed to turbocharge macOS skills, especially with creative tasks in mind.

About Maine Media College:

As an accredited arts college, it's common to have learners interested in using macOS for creative work but who feel more comfortable on Windows or want to get more out of their Mac. Anyone can sign-up for the workshop, though, so I thought some you may be interested.

Workshop Breakdown:

Day 1 (2 hours): A deep dive into macOS with a live demonstration tailored for creative workflows.
Day 2 (1 hour): Answering student questions and helping with more specific tasks.

Workshop Goals:

The aim is to get learners up-to-speed with macOS, making it easier to jump into creative projects without hesitation.

Who’s This For?

Perfect for anyone eager to leverage their Mac for more creative output. While I won’t be diving into Photoshop techniques, I'll explore essential skills like navigating Finder, managing files, understanding file types, and mastering application installations.

Limited Availability!

Only 8 spots, they may fill quickly, so don’t wait.

I would be honored if any of my amazing YouTube subs (I'm looking at you :P) showed up in the workshop.

Check out the link for more details to see if you're interested:

Hey everyone, just finished updating my Unsupported 2013 MacBook Pro to Sonoma 14.4. It took quite a while as this update required an entire OS reinstall but it's up and working well. Video coming later today / tonight!

I just finished successfully downgrading my 2013 MacBook Pro from unsupported Sonoma to supported macOS 11.7 Big Sur as part of my in-depth guide coming out in the next couple of days.

As you can see, I'm already re-upgrading it to Sonoma via OCLP in the same way I showed in my original video - I miss the iPhone screen mirroring feature A LOT.

I learned a ton while doing this - including how to COMPLETELY wipe my hard drive clean including OCLF files, left-over Boot Camp partitions and unmountable volumes. It did get a bit messy in the middle but I'll do my best to package it up nicely for all of you.

I have about 1h 30mins of footage to go through and still need to record my live-action segment with voice over but know that it's coming and it worked!

Wireshark users! I've put together a text version of my Wireshark crash course to help you copy and paste filters and review important sections after watching the video. Here is the link:

By the way! The image of this post update on YouTube shows the correct filter for HTTPS (secure) traffic in Wireshark (I made a slight error there in the video). This filter is also corrected in the text version.

Happy packet sniffing!

After nearly 2 million views and hundreds of comments and questions, I've finally decided to publish an updated and expanded tutorial on Wireshark 4.0. It will be great for anyone looking to see the traffic on their local network and for cyber security experts as a refresher on how to use Wireshark with ease. Look for it later this week, feel free to leave any last minute requests or questions specific to Wireshark.

My Mac almost died last night. It was caught in a restart loop. It took me longer than it should have but I was able to get back in without any data loss. Full story coming to YouTube later this week!

Playlist organization update:

I have removed the "Full-Length Tutorials" playlist and have distributed those videos to more specific playlists.

For example, all of my full-length Mac tutorials are now in the Mac playlist, all of the full length Gmail tutorials are in the Gmail playlist, etc. I have playlists for Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Docs and Sheets but tutorials of other Google services (like Google Meet, Voice, etc.) have been added to the "Google Tutorials" playlist.

As the tutorial content on my channel has been rather broad in the past, I think this will better help viewers find content related to what their currently watching.

Just wanted to let you know for those of you looking for the full-length tutorials playlist.
