Last week we explored why we worship, this Sunday we'll talk about why we give. Join us at 11am for the second part of our sermon series, "Why Give?"

In the first part of the series, we talked about the importance of worship and how it can help us connect with God. This week, we'll be talking about the practical reasons why we should give to our church and to others in need.

We'll discuss how giving can help us grow in our faith, how it can make a difference in the lives of others, and how it can bring us closer to God.

So if you're ever wondered why you should give, this is the sermon for you.

We hope to see you there!

Are you asking yourself "Why?"

Why worship? Why give? Why believe? Why grow? Why serve? Why the Word?

These are all important questions, and we're going to be exploring them in our new sermon series, "The Why Sermon Series."

Starting this Sunday, August 13, we'll be taking a deep dive into the reasons why we do what we do as Christians. We'll explore the biblical foundations for our beliefs and practices, and we'll talk about how these things can make a difference in our lives.

So if you're ever wondered "Why?" about anything related to your faith, this is the sermon series for you.

Join us this Sunday at 11am for the first installment of "The Why Sermon Series."

We can't wait to see you there!

New Sermon Series entitled, Bold – Unleash Your Faith Sermon Series

The message of Christ's love is to be communicated at every opportunity and in every circumstance. Faith is not to be kept under the bed for we are the light of the world. Instead, they set it on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. We are very close to Christmas. Let us unleash our faith this Christmas determined to bring someone to Christ.
Do join-us for This Sunday’s Service with Part 1 - The Love of God (Text: John 3:16-21).
It all started with God's love who reached out to all mankind. We will be looking at the love of God and what is the extent of this love.

Join us this morning for worship and Part 2 of What Happens when we turn to God. See you soon.

AUG 29
Speaker: Rev Calvin Lee
Topic: Elijah - When Failure isn't Fatal
Text: 1 Kings 19
Big Idea: Elijah had so many miraculous experiences, you’d think that he’d have unshakable faith. But when the showdown with the Baal worshipers so angered King Ahab and his wife Jezebel that she vowed to see him dead, Elijah couldn’t take it. The pressure of being such a high-profile prophet of God had gotten to Elijah and he hightailed it into the wilderness. Burnout is only permanent if you allow it to be. Don’t listen to everything that you’re tempted to believe when you’re exhausted. Take time to care for yourself physically, spiritually, and emotionally—and then get back in the game.

NEW SERIES INFO - WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE TURN TO GOD SERMON SERIES (5 weeks)
BIG IDEA - Life is getting more and more challenging today. Just when we thought things are going well we are thrown a curve ball upturning everything in our lives. In such a situation how are we going to make sense and get a hold on our lives with our own limited strength and capacities? The Bible has many instances and examples of ordinary men and women when faced with tough situations and circumstances chose to turn to God for help. They never see it as a weakness but something they needed to do.  This series encourages us to look at what would happen to us when we turn to God when faced with similar or worse situations in our lives.

AUG 22
Speaker: Ps Soo Shet Inn
Topic:  David - Defeating the Giants
Text: 1 Samuel 17
Big Idea: Life is full of giants - situations, people and circumstances that loom big and threatening to us, our family and our environment. When faced with such giants, you can end up floundering and overwhelmed or you can turn to God for help and see yourself turning the situation around and getting the victory that you need so much.

SEPT 12
Speaker: Ps George Dass
Topic: Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego -  Overcoming Adversity Through Faith
Text: Daniel 3:16-18
Big Idea: Life is never a bed of roses because thorns abound. Adversities are more than just a thorn-prick. They certainly do a lot of harm physically, mentally, socially, emotionally and spiritually. While it has been said that adversity can be a preparation for greatness facing and overcoming it is best done when we have God with us. The experience of Daniel's friends with the fiery furnace illustrates a very clear principle in life: when you have God you need not fear; you can overcome!

SEPT 19
Speaker: Ps Calvin Lee
Topic: The Unnamed Woman - Breaking Through Barriers
Text: Luke 8:43-48
Big Idea: Many people suffer in silence and alone in their pain, afflictions, discrimination and ostracism. The stigma of health, mental, social, emotional afflictions can sometimes be too much to bear leading to a withdrawal from family and others. As a result all the pain goes unnoticed and unassisted like the unnamed woman in the book of Luke. She is characterized and remembered by her physical suffering. Day in and day out, this woman was reminded of her uncleanliness. She was forbidden from worshiping God in the temple, removed from society so as not to defile others. But this unnamed woman decided to break through the barriers and turn to God after years of suffering and in doing that she became famous for her courage and faith.

SEPT 26
Speaker: Ps Soo Shet Inn
Topic: Job - God's Goodness in the Midst of Afflictions.
Text: Job 1:20-22
Big Idea: We tend to focus on the negatives when bad things happen to us. Often we wallow in self-pity and even in guilt and condemnation when all kinds of misfortune and problems happen to us. Those afflictions may even cause us to question or doubt God. Some may even lose faith in God and the faith. But when we choose to turn to God and keep faith in Him, His goodness will come through. God never restores back to where you were before. He restores back to better than you were!

A Prayer for the KAOG Family

Dear Father, bringing Your people before You I am committing their hearts and minds towards You. Let their focus be upon You and not the grim circumstances around them. Let them know the awesome Presence of the all powerful and living God who has the power to calm the storm by mere words, to part the sea, to punish the wicked and ungodly, to triumph over death. Let them thus put faith in You and not anyone else. May they go against the flow to deepen their relationship with You. Cause them to abandon worldly thinking and reasoning but put on the mind of Christ instead as they attempt to make sense of the chaos and mess around them. Father, there shall be courage in Your people, people who are filled with the power of the Holy Spirit will not cower in fear but will instead will have the boldness of the Lion of Judah to go through difficult times. Yes they shall be encouragers and motivators bringing hope and faith wherever they go. For such are the people of the most High God! Yes and amen! All these I pray for the family of God in KAOG in Jesus' Name, amen!

Ps Calvin Lee
