Many people especially young people pay for everything using either debit or credit cards. They invariably lose track of a lot of their spending. It's said the typical household has little idea of where up to 25% of their monthly spending goes... Think about it.🤔
One way to better know and control much of your spending and notably discretionary spending would be to pull cash from your bank account weekly to last through the week.
Then you can physically see the money that you are spending. Your brain reacts differently when you buy stuff with actual cash over just using a debit/credit card or worse tapping with your smartphone. It psychologically hurts your brain to see cash flow out of your wallet or purse.
Next, try this for oh one week, maybe two weeks. Every purchase you make no matter how small, jot it down into a small note pad to then see how much and where you are spending your money.
