My name is Aida Lugo McAllister and I created this channel so that you can experience the cuisine of the Caribbean – especially Puerto Rican cookery. I had the opportunity to live in Puerto Rico as well as traveling to the neighboring islands, including South America and Dominican Republic. In most of my cooking videos, I provide an introduction to a slice of food history, gardening, useful kitchen gadgets and tools, time-saving ideas and helpful food preparation tips. Some of my recipes are a healthier version of the Puerto Rican cuisine - baked alcapurrias, steamed pasteles, no salt added to our chicken fricassée, baked plantains, etc.
