Can anyone explain to me why my Mac can read AVCHD recordings which are in SD (576i25) but is completely unable to find any video stream for recordings which are in HD? Note that I have tried every piece of software that says it can convert such files but none works, so the problem is not failing to use the right programme.

Where have all the old Fifteen-to-One episodes gone? Well, Channel 4 has claimed copyright over them. They are blocked in UK and dependent territories.
