In 1996, Alive Advertising established the very first electronic screen for outdoor advertising in South Africa. The initial concept was to offer the small business that could not afford the exorbitant costs of other methods of advertising a new, high profile, and affordable way of reaching new customers. With the massive success of the first outdoor billboard, Alive Advertising saw that the need was even greater than had been imagined, and soon began to expand. Within the first 3 years a further 5 screens were installed. Alive Advertising has a network of over 60 billboards across South Africa, from Tzaneen to Upington, Umtata to Kimberly, Gauteng to Durban and Cape Town. This national footprint puts clients in front of 4.5 million captured viewers every day from all walks of life.
