Guru Ravidas, also known as Sant Ravidas, was a 14th-century Indian mystic poet, saint, and social reformer. He was born in the city of Varanasi (also known as Kashi) in present-day Uttar Pradesh, India. Guru Ravidas belonged to a low-caste community and faced social discrimination and inequality during his time.
He is considered a significant figure in the Bhakti movement, which was a devotional movement emphasizing a personal and direct connection with the divine. Guru Ravidas taught the principles of equality, love, and devotion to God, and he challenged the caste system and social divisions of his time. His teachings emphasized the importance of inner spirituality rather than external religious rituals.
