Off to the second session of sampling the organ of St Mary Redcliffe, although this time with a different flavour of crisp 🤣
I think I prefer these… thoughts?

On 17th July, Isaac Watts will be 350!
To celebrate, from Sunday 16th June BIS are starting a Hymn World Cup to find Isaac's most popular hymn!
How will it work?
1) All the hymns in the competition will be entered by you;
2) The 16 most voted-for hymns will enter the competition;
3) You will vote LIVE which hymns should make it through to the next round each Sunday night at Virtual Church;
4) The final round will be on 14th July, just 3 days before this birthday.
There is a list of his hymns here: hymnary.org/person/Watts_Isaac
Email me which hymns you'd like to enter into the competition: virtualchurch@beautyinsound.co.uk
This should be really interesting.... I've no idea which way this will go!!

Today I embark on the biggest project that I've ever done...
...sampling the organ of @stmaryredcliffe!
These microphones some of the best in the business which I hope will capture the true authentic sound of organ and its acoustic.
Can you identify the microphones?

I absolutely love this building, and last night’s Corpus Christi Eucharist with my Schola Cantorum was just beautiful. What more do you need than architecture like this, incense, Palestrina, Tallis and a fabulous choir?

ROAD TRIP!!!
On my way to record a HUGE announcement for BIS and I’m super excited to share it with you soon!! 🫶🏻
"Why do you think some people are against Hauptwerk?"...
Hard to believe that I'm on the same @RcoOrgUk 'The Organ Podcast' as William McVicker and Anne Marsden Thomas, but these are strange times!

I do remember one question I was asked me was why I think some people are against Hauptwerk.... I hope I didn't offend anyone!
This was great fun and I hope you'll have a listen! (let's see if Mark managed to edit out the rush hour trains and Bobbie...)

Romsey Abbey sample set price reduced by 25%!!
I am very proud of this sample set, and now that it is 9 months old I feel it is the time to reduce the price by a whooping 25% taking the price down from £400 to £300!
If you were undecided as to whether you should buy this organ or not, surely now is the time.
The reviews and feedback I've recieved have been phenomenal, and even to this day I don't think I would have done anything differently to the sample set - it sounds just like the real thing!
Please note that prices do not include VAT (sorry about that 😭)
Will any more of you now join the cool Romsey Abbey Sample Set club?!

Happy Ascension Day!
Here is my own rendition of 'Transports of joy' 😇🪽
The picture is me thinking, what on earth am I doing playing this piece? Far too many notes for me!
Apologies about the wrong note on the penultimate line 😭
Pretty epic piece, this! 👊
Super excited for this...
...I'm going to be playing a recital on the brand new sample set by @PiotrGrabowski_Organs on this coming Saturday!
It's the 1924 Steinmeyer organ of Landau, St. Maria (Germany) which has 72 speaking stops, and has one of the best 'tuttis' I think I've ever heard from any of Piotr's organs.... so I thought I'd better put together a programme to show it off!
- Franck - Pièce héroique
- Bach - 'Little' Fugue in G minor BWV 578
- Bach - Dies sind die heil'gen zehn Gebot BWV 678
- Mendelssohn - Sonata No 3
- Tournemire - Choral-Improvisation sur le 'Victimae paschali'
Saturday 4th May 8pm UK time
Hope to see you there!
