They say “sad birds still fly.”

And that’s the thing about life, even when you’re weighed down, the world doesn’t stop spinning. You still have deadlines to meet, calls to answer, clients to please, and dreams to chase. You move forward not because it’s easy, but because deep down, you know stopping isn’t an option.

So if today feels heavy, remind yourself: wings work in the rain just as they do in sunshine. Keep flying, even if it’s slower, even if it’s shakier. One day, you’ll look back and realize how far you went while carrying all that weight. 🕊️

Have a wonderful week ahead 🙏

Yesterday, I had the privilege of sharing my creative journey at a vibrant meetup organized by @Merakichannels at Vegas Lounge, Patasi, Kumasi. The theme, "Turning Passion into Profession", set the tone for a thought-provoking evening as we explored what it truly means to shift from being a hobbyist to becoming a professional creative.

I was honored to share the stage with some brilliant minds in the creative space, Kojo Cue, Majid of Aerovision, and Kwasi Boateng. Together, we engaged with a passionate audience of creatives, entrepreneurs, fashion designers, and visionaries who are on various parts of their professional journey.

One of the key discussions centered around the mindset shift required when moving from "doing what you love" to "doing what pays." We unpacked the reality of monetizing creativity without losing the spark that started it all. From unlearning limiting beliefs to embracing structure, consistency, and accountability, we laid bare the truths that come with choosing to go pro.

Another powerful moment came when we addressed imposter syndrome. Many talented individuals still struggle to see themselves as professionals — even when their work says otherwise. We emphasized the importance of owning your value, showing up confidently, and building discipline around your craft.

My biggest takeaway, and what I’ll leave with you is this: Passion gives you the start, but professionalism gives you staying power. It’s not just about being talented; it’s about being intentional. Build systems. Be consistent. Market yourself. And most importantly, stay inspired, even when it’s hard.

One of the mistakes most beginner designers make is this…

Designing for yourself instead of the target audience.

Yes, you love neon gradients and chunky fonts(or like myself, you love poppins), but the client sells luxury perfumes, not tidal rave tickets.

✅ Research your audience: what do they like? What do they expect?

✅ Study similar brands: what style choices do they make?

✅ Design with purpose, not just personal preference.

Understand this: The best designers aren’t just creative, they’re empathetic problem-solvers.
They blend vision with understanding, and that’s when design becomes powerful.

FREELANCERS, DON’T SLEEP ON THIS 🚨

I wasn’t getting orders on Fiverr lately… but I was too busy to even notice what was going on. I kept thinking, “Maybe it’s just the usual slow season.” But something didn’t sit right.

One random after, I decided to check my gigs, and that was when I realized ALL MY GIGS WERE SET TO INACTIVE.

I don’t even know how long they’d been off.
I just know I’d gone weeks without a single order, and it was starting to feel very unusual.

The moment I set them back to ACTIVE, I started seeing a difference again. Impressions went up. Orders started trickling in. Just like that.

👉 Moral of the story?

Always check your gigs. Don’t assume Fiverr is slow. Sometimes the problem is on your side.

Stay sharp. Stay booked 👌

Dear designer,

Good design isn’t about showing off all your tools, it’s about knowing when not to use them.
