The International Longshoremen’s Association is organizing a strike of 45,000 dock workers across 36 shipping ports in America, something that will have massive impacts on the entire economy.
They are demanding a 77% increase in pay over the next 6 years and a COMPLETE ban on automation in their workplaces.
Critics have argued that many longshoremen already make over $200,000 a year with overtime, and that American shipping ports are already well behind more automated ports in Europe and Asia.
