Last Meal in Osaka 🍱🍵
The final meal of my 47th birthday trip in Japan. A trip that’s coming to an end but not quietly.
Earlier today, I walked the grounds of Osaka Castle 🏯. That iconic fortress, built in the 1500s to symbolize the reunification of Japan, reminded me of strength, rebuilding, and purpose. After immersing myself in that history, it was time to return, pack up, and prepare for the next leg: Tokyo ✈️ then back home to Los Angeles 🌇.
This trip wasn’t just a celebration. It was a challenge I set for myself. To explore the unknown. To step into discomfort. To wake up the parts of me that had gone quiet. And somewhere between the train rides 🚄, the solo meals, and the unexpected conversations with strangers I found him again. The old me.
The one who walks into the unfamiliar and finds connection 🤝
The one who doesn’t hesitate to lead, to speak, to create moments ✨
The one I’ve always trusted ❤️
Over the years, life gets loud. Responsibilities pile up. You forget. You dim. But Japan this “Tierra Hermosa “🇯🇵 brought those parts of me back to the surface. And this time, they’re staying.
This journey has been more than travel. It’s been a reset. A return. A reminder. I found Alex. I found Jacobo. The version of me that’s always been true.
As I take in this last meal in Osaka 🍜, I’m closing this chapter with one clear message to myself:
Always trust yourself.
Never doubt who you are no matter who tries to tell you otherwise.
Japan brought me back.🇯🇵♥️
