Here's a post where folks attending the Dan's Fish Warehouse 4th of July BBQ/Fish Nerd Out can get in touch in case anyone wants to carpool or coordinate other aspects of their trip. If you are flying in, there are direct flights from the Denver Airport to the Sheridan Airport (SHR). Also, the Billings Montana, Casper Wyoming, and Gillette Wyoming airports are fairly close to Sheridan if that is helpful.

BBQ Housing Option! For those who would like some very affordable housing while at our 4th of July BBQ/Fish Nerd Out event, dorm housing at Sheridan College is available starting at $39/night. The college is about 2 miles from the Fish Warehouse. Both apartment style housing (more private) and traditional dorm style housing is available.
Note from the college housing office:
All units have twin beds. The college will not place individuals from different parties in the same rooms, but you may be sharing a suite with people from other parties in Centennial and Whitney Villas and Lofts. Check in is between 8am and 5pm Monday-Friday. If you will be arriving outside those times, please call the office at 307-675-0510 to make an appointment for check in. Confirmations with your room assignments will be emailed at least two weeks prior to your arrival. Payment is expected prior to receiving your keys and can be done with cash, check, or a credit card (credit card fees apply). Rates do not include the 13% sales and lodging tax. A linen set including sheets, pillow, towel, bathmat, hand towel, washcloth, and a bar of soap) is included.

Last year's 4th of July BBQ/Fish Nerd Out was awesome, so we're doing it again! Come by the Dan's Fish Warehouse on July 5-6 and we'll feed you. Doors open at 10am and will stay open until...well, until everyone is ready for bed I guess. We'll have a couple of casual presentations as well as tours of our state-of-the-art, custom built water sourcing/treatment system. And of course there will be plenty of fish to look at and plenty of fish nerds to converse with. Hope to see you there! - Dan

As most of you know, a sale at Dan's Fish is rarer than a hen's tooth. Why? Because I don't like the idea of devaluing living animals. And I especially don't like the kind of FOMO that sales can induce because low sale prices can lead to rushed purchasing decisions which can lead to an animal going to an inadequately prepared home. That being said, I do need to clear some tank space to make room for a couple of imports I want to arrange, so we're having a sale...Ugh again! There are some really good deals, but please don't feel any pressure to "buy now." This is not a "sale ends Thursday" kind of event. The items currently on sale will remain on sale for as long as it takes, so don't rush. Let's all be responsible and only make a purchase if we have a nice stable environment available for the fish.
