UNDERGROUND HIP HOP HISTORY….The Culture Now called Hip Hop began as a Youth rebellion against racism and segregation in the Bronx NY…The Black Spades (led by a teenager in the Nation of Islam) formed to protect their community from drug addicts.. fighting back against caucasian gangs and the racist in the Soundview/Parkchester area of the Bronx NY 1968 - 1973…The Original Black Spades fought using martial arts and military fighting tactics...The teenage Black Spades formed their own sub-culture which became the foundation of Hip Hop culture…During the late 1960's early 1970's the Black Spades changed leadership...As they expanded, the Black Spades lost their original intentions and became the largest "street gang" in NY history...
