The Human Rights in Business project, funded by the Civil Justice Programme of the European Union, aims at researching and resolving the following challenge:
How do we provide justice in the European Union for human rights violations committed abroad by EU corporations?
Along with research, the project aims to train stakeholders (judges, lawyers, activists, businesspersons, victims and interested citizens) to use the mechanisms which provide the necessary access to justice in the EU and disseminating the results of the research done so that stakeholders and the public in general become aware of the obstacles preventing access to justice for victims of environmental and human rights (HRs) abuses committed by corporations in third countries and of possible solutions.
