Having his BA degree in International Relations at Ankara University Laçiner earned his MA degree from the University of Sheffield and later obtained his PhD from King's College London.
With a career spanning several decades, Laçiner commenced his journalistic journey in 1992 with Milliyet daily and went on to become a columnist for various newspapers and publications.
In addition to his journalistic contributions, Laçiner has imparted knowledge at prestigious institutions such as Bilkent and Başkent Universities. Notably, he held the position of the sixth Rector at Çanakkale University and served as the founding president of the International Strategic Research Organization (USAK), Ankara-based think tank.
