āœØImportant News - youtube.com/@MindfulnessForStrivers?sub_confirmatiā€¦ āœØ

First of all, thank you for all the beautiful comments, I am genuinely overwhelmed by all your support and kind words. It has made me even more determined to bring peace, safety and relaxation to our new community.

Because of this, I want to keep our channel focused on what it does best: Guided meditations for the Vagus Nerve, anxiety relief, deep sleep, and stress reduction.

So, Iā€™ve decided to create a brand new channel for those navigating high-pressure environments and looking for ways to manage stress, avoid burnout, and boost performance.

This is the link to the new channel - youtube.com/@MindfulnessForStrivers?sub_confirmatiā€¦

Itā€™s a different focus with a different audience; however, I know that many of you in this beautiful community will also love the new content Iā€™m creating šŸ’–

Over on my new ā€˜Mindfulness for Striversā€™ channel, youā€™ll find meditations called ā€œThe Daily Striverā€. Each day, Iā€™ll provide a brand new meditation on a particular theme. This week's themes are ā€˜The power of letting go, ā€˜Finding strength in imperfectionā€™, ā€˜Embracing discomfort for growthā€™, ā€˜Rest as a tool for successā€™, and ā€˜The power of saying noā€™.

These meditations will be quick (5-7 minutes) and practical and will help you reduce stress, sharpen your focus, and set yourself up for success.

Along with these daily meditations, Iā€™ll share valuable tips, tools, and techniques to help you avoid burnout and thrive in your work and personal life.

Please join me over there by subscribing, and together, weā€™ll keep growing, striving, and finding balance. I canā€™t wait to see you!

With gratitude and excitement,
Chibs šŸ’–

I woke up last night just after 2 am.

I went to the toilet (too much information?) and then got back into bed.

Usually, Iā€™d just go back to sleep, but a thought popped into my head: 'Wouldnā€™t it be weird if I opened my YouTube app and Iā€™d be on exactly 10,000 subscribers?ā€™

So I opened it upā€¦

Clearly Iā€™m in the Matrix šŸ¤£

My channel has taken off; over 200,000 people have listened to my meditations in the last month, and Iā€™ve had 6,000 new subscribers.

Iā€™m very proud of the meditations Iā€™ve been producing, and Iā€™ve had the most beautiful feedback

Iā€™m so happy that people benefit from something I love creating. Itā€™s making my life feel pretty complete at the moment.

So, thanks to all my new subscribers, thanks to everyone whoā€™s recently signed up for my newsletter, and extra big thanks to everyone whoā€™s been with me from the start.

I love you guys.

Wow! Iā€™m absolutely blown away by all the love and support from each and every one of you. Thank you for the amazing comments and the words of encouragementā€”they mean the world to me. Your positivity is so energising and inspires me to keep creating content that helps and uplifts.

Iā€™m feeling more excited than ever to give back to this growing community. Iā€™ve got some meditations that Iā€™m recording, including meditations for sleep, and a meditation for political anxiety. But Iā€™d love to hear from youā€”please let me know what youā€™ve enjoyed the most so far and what youā€™d like to hear more of!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you all. Letā€™s keep growing together

"Don't Be Too Hard On Yourself... Or Too Soft?"

I'm a big believer in "Don't be too hard on yourself."

Since I've started being kind to myself and stopped beating myself up, it's been a game-changer for my mental health.

There is a flip side that's worth considering, however.

While being kind to yourself is infinitely better than being hard on yourself if we become too comfortable and avoid challenges, that has the potential to stop our growth and progress.

Sometimes, I can take it too far and end up being so kind to myself that I allow my unhelpful habits to creep back in. Then, I might find myself stuck in a rut, not living my life to its fullest potential.

Perhaps that's what that "middle way" is that I hear these Buddhists talking about!

Finding the sweet spot between self-compassion, discomfort, and effort pushes us towards personal growth and fulfilment. If you're anything like me, being "kind to yourself" can sometimes get twisted.

My "kind to myself" often involves quick fixesā€”what I call "cheap dopamine"ā€”essentially choosing immediate satisfaction over long-term benefits.

Think about the neuroscience behind it.

Each time we settle for an easy reward, we're programming our brains to expect and demand it, like a child who receives candy for every minor accomplishment and soon expects nothing less.

Unknowingly, we're programming our brain's reward system. So, the next time you find yourself being kind to yourself, try to avoid the cheap dopamine.

Instead of treating yourself to a late-night show on Netflix, treat yourself to an early night.

Instead of treating yourself to a giant chocolate bar, treat yourself to a fruit salad.

Instead of treating yourself to a bottle of wine, treat yourself to a massage.

I'm not saying don't indulge; what I am saying is, indulge so that it enhances your joy rather than indulging to drowning your sorrows.

Sometimes I feel like I'm writing a journal to myself, and it just so happens that other people are reading it too lol šŸ˜…

Imagine you're rushing through the airport, late for your flight, and your gate is at the other end of the airport.

Instead of wheeling your luggage, you hoist it up and carry it all the way to the gate.

It's heavy, you're sweating, you're exhausted, and suddenly, it clicks:

'It's not the load that breaks you down, it's the way you carry it.'

Life's challenges can be like that luggage. It's not about how heavy they are but how we choose to handle them. Adjust your approach and find ways to lighten your burden. With a shift in perspective, you can carry life's load more gracefully.

What's one adjustment you can make today to ease your burden? Share your thoughts below! šŸ‘‡

Every morning is a precious privilege.

I remind myself dailyā€”itā€™s a gift to breathe, think, enjoy, and love.

Itā€™s easy to forget this in our busy lives, but starting the day with gratitude makes all the difference.
