My emphasis on non-lethal weapons is not out of concern for the wellbeing of the criminals at all. I am ok with them meeting their end. Its out of concern for the people I love not going to prison and not being made a political scapegoat.

When an "Expert" tells people stuff, The context in which the thing was said often gets taken completely out of context. And the followers of that expert start pushing situationally dependent concepts around as if they were a universal Orthodoxy. As if a specific tactic or gear setup is applicable to every single situation, Area of operation, And mission. A soldier in Kandahar, Afghanistan and a guy defending his house in Tampa, Florida are going to have completely different setups. A guy living in New York City is a lot more likely to want to be more "Gray man" than a guy living in rural Montana in a small town where everyone knows everyone. One can turn on Discover Channel and watch animals in the wild- They ADAPT TO THEIR ENVIORNMENT. And their behavior is situationally dependent. Such is the nature of survival. Failure to adapt = Death.
