The ten finalists have been named for this year's poker hall of fame induction. Anyone who has followed this channel knows that Ted Forrest is at the top of my list. But, I would be OK with Miami John Cernuto as well. First time nominee, Patrick Antonius can wait another couple year. Who of these five is your pick (it only lets me list five)?

Two pieces of good news. First, thank you so much for being a part of the channel getting a million views. I'm really appreciative of your support. I know I have not been able to post a lot over the past few months but that is changing. Which is the second piece of good news. I have been working on a new series related to history and gaming and will roll out the first episode sometime in the next few days. I am in editing mode as well as being a dad mode so I'm hoping Monday or Tuesday. Again, thanks for your support and I look forward to interacting with you all more in the coming months.

Thanks to everyone who helped the channel achieve this milestone. I don't see ever hitting 1 million subscribers but 1 million views is definitely on-deck. Again, thanks for your support.

Throwback Sunday? This was my contribution to my daughter's wardrobe. She's much bigger now, and I still chase flush draws.

The ten finalists for the Poker Hall of Fame have been announced. I appreciate everyone who either voted here in my informal poll or who went to the page to add their nominations. My gut tells me Lon and Norm, Ted Forrest and Arieh. They need to do 2-3 a year for the next decade. A lot of outstanding players are getting up there in years.
Josh Arieh
Jeremy Ausmus
Ted Forrest
Kathy Liebert
Mike Matusow
Lon McEachren and Norman Chad
Brian Rast
Matt Savage
Isai Scheinberg
Bill Smith

One more from the staking video. In the video, I buy one percent of Dutch Boyd in Event #10: $10,000 Dealers Choice 6-Handed Championship. I later went on to buy another percent. Yesterday, Dutch cruised through the money bubble. Today is the final day so let's see if he can take it down.

Did you catch my video on staking? In it I mentioned channel subscriber and poker player James Urbanic using an online poker staking site to get backers for his WSOP adventure. I lamented that I was too late to back him in his initial offerings. Well, James took 2nd in Event #1: $500 Casino Employees No-Limit Hold'em. CONGRATS to James and I would suspect we'll see more of him in this year's series.

I don't usually pimp other channels, but if you're looking to watch some live poker, Hustler Casino Live's Million Dollar Game is on now. And Norman Chad is one of the commentators. youtube.com/live/59TnWm-2Q7c?feature=share

Welcome to the channel!
I started Metal Playgrounds way back in 2003, on Blogger, as a site that commented on society through a non-partisan lens. That page evolved into a YouTube channel that continues to evolve.
Today, I do videos mostly on gambling related themes. I'm a history buff and the history of gambling fascinates me. So, this is a great spot for you to enjoy the fruits of my labor of love. I hope you enjoy.
The topics I pick are things that interest me and I hope you too. If they do, consider subscribing and also commenting on what you would like to see on the channel.
