Hello everyone! In the very near future we are going to be activating Youtube memberships for our channel. We want to explain this change and be absolutely clear that this will not negatively impact anyone, whether they sign up or not.
We appreciate the immense support from all of our fans and we know that many of you are not interested in a paid membership. That's totally fine! We are 100% committed to keeping our videos available to everyone, just the same as they are now.
Some people have asked how they can do more to help us and this is our answer. Membership is simply an option for those who wish to give extra support to our efforts. Even a few bucks a month is a great help with our travel, gear, and everything else that goes into the channel.
We can also offer a few perks for those who do sign up for a membership:
- Early access to videos
- Priority comments
- Loyalty badges
Again, we want to be very up front with everyone so let us explain how early video access will work. We make more videos each year than we can post publicly, and the extras are placed in a queue to be posted later. Right now we have dozens of videos that are sitting unwatched, waiting their turn to go public.
As a thank you for the extra support, we will be giving our members early access to these videos while they are in the queue. The videos will still be made public at the same time they normally would, so no one will miss out on seeing them. Members will simply get a sneak peek.
Memberships will be available soon for $2.99 a month and you can cancel any time. We will start making the queued videos available to members at the same time.
We hope that this change will allow us to fund bigger and cooler filming trips in the future so that we can make better videos for everyone!
Again, we want to reiterate that those who don't sign up will not see any negative change to their experience. And we really do appreciate everyone's support whether they sign up or not!
