This is the bay we have been at anchor at for a couple of weeks while weโve been waiting to get our fridge freezer fixed.
For anyone interested thereโs a lot of ww2 history for this place, weโll be doing a video about it before we leave.
If you have seen the film โThe guns of Navaroneโ, that is based on the battle of Leros! We are visiting the gun placement later this week.
This bay is the most protected natural bay in the whole of the Mediterranean. On the far side of the pic is the Naval base and just out of shot to the left is where the sea planes were based. In the middle of the bay is a naval frigate that was attacked by German Stukas. It now lies sunken in 40m of water.
