Turn down 和 refuse 的區別：
1.) turn down
語氣比較溫和、口語、常用在「拒絕邀請、提議、申請」，有一種「委婉、有禮」的感覺，較自然生活化。
Examples:
I had to turn down the invitation.
我只好拒絕那個邀請。
They turned down my job application.
他們拒絕了我的工作申請。
2.) refuse
語氣較強、正式、甚至帶一點「堅決」的感覺，像是「我拒絕！」、「我不要！」
Examples:
