Two days have passed since the video showing two Zo-kuki women stripped naked, tortured, and molested by the Meitei Gang went viral. It shocked me to the core that I've lost the strength to write even a few words of sympathy to my fellow Zo-kuki brothers and sisters. I am in tears. I have a mother and a sister, and I couldn't imagine what the victims had to suffer 😢
I believe every woman in the world would choose to be killed instead of going through gang rape and parading naked. The incident that my zo-kuki women experienced is indeed worse than death. I urge the Government of Manipur to give compensation to the victims and their families. But what is the point of urging this useless Manipur government led by the culprit himself, Biren Singh? Biren Singh has lost control of the government, and he has failed to maintain law and order in Manipur state. Without further ado, it is time to put Manipur under the president's rule.
Knowing all the problems and hardships our zo-kuki bothers and sisters are facing because of the Meitei people and useless Govt of Manipur, we, the Mizo people in Mizoram, never lost our humanity, not even once we laid our hands on Meitei people who reside in Mizoram. You know why? Because we are not animals like the Meitei people and the government of Biren Singh.
In Manipur, the police, whose duty it is to maintain law and order, took sides with the Meitei Gang and helped them do such inhumane things that the world witnessed on the 19th of July, 2023. I've always believed that India is a democratic country where everyone is equal under the law, but now I don't know what to think anymore. The inhumane act of the Meitei people put the country and all of us into SHAME.
To my fellow zo-kuki brothers and sisters, we are troubled by your pain, and we shed our tears for you. We are proud of your bravery. Do not stop fighting until you get what's yours. We, the people of Mizoram, and especially my people, the Lai community, will always stand in solidarity with you.
