Dr. Bonine has been practicing in Brighton, Michigan as an oral maxillofacial surgeon since 1984. He did his residency in oral maxillofacial surgery at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, where he simultaneously received a Masters in Science from Rackam School of Graduate Studies. Prior to this he had been a clinical instructor with the Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Michigan, carried out research at the Dental Research Institute also at Michigan, and had a brief private practice in general dentistry in Brighton, Michigan. His doctorate is from the University of Michigan, and he received his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University.
