Hello YouTube Community! I’d love to get to know you more. I’ll be posting snippets from my everyday life and inviting you to do the same via the new “Community” feature. I want this to be a safe and inclusive space so no bullying please. Let’s have fun!

What did everyone have for lunch today? I had spaghetti aglio e olio, which is a fancy name for noodles with garlic and olive oil. Use the new “Community” feature in your YouTube app and show me a photo of what you eat for lunch!

“For to us a child is born, a Son is given… And he will be called the Prince of Peace.” When I found out I was pregnant with baby number 5, I had 9 months to plan for his arrival. We built his crib, bought his clothes, and prepared his car seat and stroller. We waited with great anticipation for a child who would unknowingly become the lifelong recipient of our love and devotion.

Similarly, Christmas is a celebration of a new baby but with one major difference: Jesus did not come to be served but to serve. He came to heal and forgive with a singular mission to save, even at the cost of His life.

As I busy myself with holiday food and decor, and as my kids take stock of their Christmas gifts, may we take time to be still and honor the baby whose humble birth made way for our hope and salvation.

My baby is 1! There have been many questions about baby E’s age, the timing of my pregnancy and his seemingly rapid development over the last few months. And for good reason! I announced my pregnancy in December, posted his birth video in February and now he’s learning to walk. The timing doesn’t make sense and here’s why. I’ve been on social media for 3 years but I’ve only been active on YouTube for 8 months. Instead of posting real time content that would have had no context, I decided to start from the beginning. I scheduled 15 videos a week in order to get through 3 years of content because I wanted you - our YouTube community - to know our whole story. I’m thrilled to announce that as of this week, we are all caught up! We celebrated Baby E’s first birthday at Disneyland last month and we are now waiting for him to take his first steps. Thank you for being on this journey with us. You are kind, gracious, loyal and supportive and we are grateful to share this space with you.

The tomb is empty! Ok so this isn’t Jesus’ tomb but it looks like one and we didn’t have a chance to take a proper Easter photo this year so I’m running with it.

How do I even put into words what Easter means to me? Hope, life, light, grace, mercy, forgiveness, love. These are things that I claim and yet take for granted everyday. But they do not come without a cost, and so on this Resurrection Sunday - amidst the egg hunts, bunny sightings, and glazed ham and potato dinners, we recognize the life and suffering of Jesus, whose death and resurrection give us hope and a future.

“He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.” (Matthew 28:6).

2 MILLION SUBS?!!! My favourite moment from Michelle Yeoh’s Oscar speech was “Ladies, don’t let anybody tell you you’re past your prime.” I started my YouTube channel 6 months ago at the age of 40. Did I think this platform would receive an [elder] millennial whose stick is corny and wholesome? Absolutely not! My teen, who’s platform of choice is YouTube, thanks I’m cringey.

But here’s what I learned. Mainstream media may be dominated by certain genres and demographics but in reality, there is space for everyone. Whether you’re a creator or a casual consumer, the opportunity for meaningful connection is there. Thank you for accepting me in all my “old lady mom” glory (an actual comment from one of my videos). I’m grateful for your attention and privileged to call you my community.

This is 40. We’re officially mid-life. For some it’s a season of questioning one’s identity and confidence; a realization, perhaps, that youth is behind us. While this may be true, Kev and I are full of anticipation for what lies ahead. A new baby always brings hope, but we also move forward with greater conviction, perspective, and life experience. We’re more intentional about our choices, confident in our decisions, and appreciative of our health, our family and our work. We’re choosing to embrace our 40s (and the wrinkles that come with it) because we know it is a gift that can be as joyful and fulfilling as any other decade. The only thing I won’t be leaving behind is my sunscreen. Who’s with me?

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 2022 has been an eventful year to say the least. Kev and I turned 40, we celebrated 15 years of marriage, and we welcomed baby #5 to our squad. We are deeply grateful for our health, our family and our community which includes you!

Above all, we recognize the hope we have in Jesus, whose humble birth we celebrate this advent season. Wishing you love, joy and peace - this holiday and everyday.
