Negotiating staff have reached a deal, but more work is needed before the deal can be announced. Democratic lawmakers are calling for President Biden to give a prime-time address to House Republicans on the debt ceiling. Some members of the GOP caucus are interested in hitting the trigger over the debt ceiling, while others are concerned about what happens if the country defaults. The White House has issued a call for President Biden to "make clear to the American people what the options are and how important this moment is." Steven Horsford, D-Nev., who heads the Congressional Black Caucus, urged Biden to make clear to the American people what the options are and how important this moment is. Jay Paul, Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, has stated that Democrats were told they could be called back to Washington on Sunday morning.

President Biden sought to allay concerns that the U.S. could default on its debt, saying that the two sides have made "progress" in negotiations but that the "only way forward" is a bilateral deal. He also pointed back against suggestions that he could use the 14th Amendment to unilaterally raise the debt ceiling.

Donald Trump's employees moved boxes of papers the day before FBI agents and a prosecutor visited his Florida home, which investigators have come to view as suspicious and an indication of possible obstruction. Evidence shows that boxes of documents were moved into a storage area on June 2nd just before senior justice department lawyer Jay Bratt arrived with agents to collect materials responsive to a May 2022 grand jury subpoena demanding the return of all documents with classified markings. Trump's lawyers signed an attestation under penalty of perjury stating these were all of the classified documents. The Department of Justice searched Mar-A-Lago and found over a hundred classified documents related to nuclear programs and foreign weapon systems. New evidence suggests Donald Trump was holding dress rehearsals to keep sensitive documents for himself.

The last time special counsel Jack Smith was present evidence was on May 5th, so there is a 20+ day gap between the last time he impaneled the grand jury. Indictments are imminent and special counsel Jack Smith has the goods.
