Joe Biden has authorized Ukraine to use U.S. missiles to strike deeper into Ukraine.
The move marks a major change in policy for the U.S. which had refused for months to agree to Kyiv's requests for authorization to use the ATACMS missiles outside its own borders.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and many of his Western supporters have been pressing Biden for months to allow Ukraine to strike military targets deeper inside Russia with Western-supplied missiles, saying the U.S. ban had made it impossible for Ukraine to try to stop Russian attacks on its cities and electrical grids.

The Netherlands will impose tighter controls on its land borders from December 9th to tackle irregular migration.
The controls, which follow a similar move by Germany, are set to last six months and are part of a wider crackdown on migration proposed by the right-wing coalition.
âIt is time to tackle irregular migration and migrant smuggling in a concrete way. That is why we will start reintroducing border controls in the Netherlands from the beginning of December,â she said in a statement.
Dutch Migration Minister Marjolein Faber announced the policy in a press release after receiving Cabinet approval.
