Alexander von Humboldt on Dirichlet: “He alone – not I, not Cauchy, not Gauss, know what a complete mathematical proof is. When Gauss says that he has proved something, I consider it quite probable that he has done so; when Cauchy says so, one would offer equal odds as to whether he has in fact done so; when Dirichlet says so, it is a certainty.” - https://youtu.be/uRluS4KwXu8

Hi Everyone! In my latest video "The Vandermonde Matrix and Polynomial Interpolation" I experimented with using light graphics over a dark background. This was after a couple of you mentioned the previous videos using a white background could be a little harsh on the eyes! So go check out the video and let's put it to a vote!

Hi everyone, this is my first community post so I’ll try make it useful!
Here are a few of my favourite free resources for mathematics:
An Introduction to Statistical Learning: great book and really a must have for any data scientist!
www.statlearning.com
Basic Real Analysis by Anthony Knapp is an absolute classic and available freely from the Stonybrook math dept. Website
Never been into convex optimisation until recently, but found the book Convex Optimisation by Boyd and Vandenberghe really useful (available freely through Stanford . edu site). Also Stanford’s Youtube channel has a full convex optimisation course presented by Boyd. Definitely worth checking out!
PS. I’ve purposely left out links that aren’t https secure but all are easy to find with a quick search.
