I've finally managed to complete the entire Portal: Revolution walkthrough. All videos have been completed with surround, 4K UHD and English subtitles added everywhere. The channel is dead.
YouTube changed directions, and theyāve made it clear that content as it appears on the channel (gameplay footage, basically) is no longer wanted on the platform. Many other creators are facing the same fate, as is evidenced by the recent fallout of channels. Views and revenue declined 95% since 2024, and what used to be the best months, have become the worst Iāve ever had, period.
In any other job in the world, this basically means youāve been fired. So, Iāve been fired by Google/YouTube. Itās literally declining to the point I get about 10k views per day. With the slow decline of CS2 and Zombie Escape as well, Iāve decided to seek greener pastures, and try out some new content alongside ZE. It will definitely destroy the channel even more (because the algorithm hates this), but since I no longer have anything to lose, and everythingās going back to beginner channel stats, I might as well just change course and hope for a better future.
Years ago I had this idea of continuing to do YouTube for years and years to come, but eventually every single channel on the platform will forcibly come to a point of being considered ātoo oldā, and slowly but surely get axed no matter what, for the sake of ārenewingā the platform just for newnessās sake. It came sooner than I expected, but thereās nothing I can really do about it anymore. The dream is gone.
I want to thank everyone whoās been supporting the channel for all this time. It has ran its course, evidently, but Iām happy Iāve been able to enjoy all of your endless support, which have brought the channel further than I could ever imagine.
Hopefully, someday, it gets back on track, forever keeping ZE alive, even if just for the history books š

For the first time ever, Iām about to join the other YouTubers whoāve made a rant-video about whatās happening lately on the platform. In the coming weeks Iām going to prepare a video talking about the decline of my channel, and whatās going so so wrong with YouTube lately, due to bad changes and design decision, plus the massive AI wave whoāve been botting channels on purpose.
With every new video I release, and with every Short, views get lower and lower, and the videos disappear from recommended in less than one or two hours, and it gets more and more aggressive. Meanwhile, brand new channels are completely unaffected and get easily more views with 1/100th the subscriber amount.
Iām tired of it. Iām tired of spending effort and time looking to adapt for Shorts and improving the quality of my videos, when in the end all my videos are buried under the staple in just a few seconds upon posting.
Expect a rant video sometime in the next weeks.

Per usual, I got CS2 access when I am on holidays. I wonāt be able to investigate ZE for CS2 until earliest Thursday, likely not even before Friday evening.
I hope to make a video about CS2-ZE ASAP and start to record videos as soon as the mod becomes better and better.
Sorry for the delays. Thereās been so much change on YT lately, and itās hard enough to catch up with Shorts that the release of CS2 comes at a bad time for me. But, no worries as I intend to catch up as quickly as possible. See you soon šš

Due to an error in my editting of the second level of Crysis Warhead (it literally crashed 7 times during recording...) I have to postpone today's upload. Instead, I will post a new ZE video š stay tuned!

Itās over. Itās officially over. The channel has hit an all-time low of less than 20k views in 24h. I realize that for some people this is still more than what they achieve on their channel, but for GamingRevenant this basically means the channel is in total decline. And I mean, total decline. I wouldnāt be surprised if soon the channel no longer generates more than 5k views per day (will be around October if it continues in the same trend).
YouTube changed their algorithm. They did so in a way that channels of my age or type are no longer welcome on the platform. I donāt know how the future of YouTube will look like any a few years, but they sure as hell are absolutely hating long-form content now. They couldnāt care less, in fact. This is obvious, since every new day the decline is exponential rather than gradual. Iām basically being āfiredā equal to an employee in a regular company on a payroll.
Weirdly enough Iāve always been saying in the last 12 years that there will always be up-and-down side periods, but today I donāt think it will actually improve any longer. Channels like mine will gradually start to disappear, and slowly be overtaken by channels that just duplicate or cross post TikTok or Facebook content on film repeat without any filtering or originality whatsoever. If thatās what Google likes, then by all means my opinion is that the future is looking very grim.
Iām looking into taking more hours in my real-life job/career, as the future is much more certain that way. Iām lucky, that I still have that. Iām sad, however, that this likely means the start of the end for this channel.
Iām not yet going to stop completely, but if channel subs, stats and history and support no longer mean anything to Google, the owner and ultimate decider of YouTubeās future, then creators like myself can no longer feel welcome and continue producing content that results inā¦ nothing.
Iām so grateful for everyone that has been so supportive over the years. Some early, some recently, and some along the whole way. Thank you so much for having contributed to the long run of this channel.
I will remain hopeful that perhaps a change of course could continue the story of GamingRevenant, but if it eventually gets buried under the wrath of YouTubeās Shorts craze, I will move forward with greener pastures in sight (ironically, Sunday will be the first 8K ZE-video ever of the channel, but itāll likely mean nothing because itās not a Short).
