Hello everyone. I’ve created a page on Patreon. I do not have any plans for it as of yet. I simply wanted to establish it for the future. The link is in my channel description. I have one camping video on it so far. Anyone can access it. At this time I have no plans to do anything else on it. I am saving to build out my 4Runner for travel and light overland stuff. That may become future content. We shall see. I just wanted to pass this along. You are invited to become a free member. I may sneak some Patreon only content for y’all to watch. Check it out. Thanks.

Hello Community. I have some questions and I have some things to say. First. Thank you all for your support of my channel. I appreciate each and every one of you. A few posts back I mentioned that a person was stealing my videos and reposting them as reels on Facebook as his. I contacted him and he voluntarily removed them. For now anyway. As a deterrent, I have been inserting a transparent logo that I hope constitutes a legal watermark on each of my videos. And, of course, I suspect there is a way to remove them. But I have also found out that removing a watermark is a crime, and it can cost a person $25K in fines per removal, plus court costs. That is if my logo meets the legal requirements. I have not done research on it. Legality is not extremely important to me. I just hope the logo is a deterrent. My QUESTION is. Does the logo take away from the quality of my video? Does it take away from the enjoyment? I’m curious. But I also do not want this to cause my videos to receive less views. Please comment. Thank you.

I’m curious to know what types of videos my viewers enjoy the most?

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Wow. I reached a personal milestone tonight that I would have never thought I’d make it to. 50K subscribers. I say personal milestone because the first actual milestone in YouTube is still a long, long way off. Maybe never. The silver button award. And. You do not make it anywhere on YouTube without the help of friends. So again. Thank you everyone for watching and liking my videos. If things go according to plan, there should be more than sparks and smoke on the channel. I very much want to get into the woods more. At least some day hikes starting out. A day hike video should be up in a few weeks. Lastly. No big head here. I got lucky with a few videos. That is it. It says one thing. If I can do it, anyone can do it. And probably much better. Take care everyone. May 2024 be our best year ever. Thank you.

I’m finding out that one part of having a YouTube channel is companies contacting you to do what is called a collaboration. They send you their product at no charge in exchange for you featuring their product in a video. I’ve done a few of those, two chainsaws and a grill so far. A pen company is sending a mechanical pencil to me to feature in a video. It’s a quality writing instrument I felt I had to have. Stay tuned for what I do with it. I will say this. If you acquire one of these pens, it will be the last you will have to buy. They are built to last a few lifetimes.

Hello everyone. Thank you to all who have subscribed to my channel and have offered your comments and suggestions. I learn a lot from viewers. Today I learned how to dry a Bic lighter without blowing out my lungs. No blowing at all. I’ll have to make a how to video soon. I’ve seen bushcrafters and survival experts shake and blow on lighters for several minutes to get a wet one going. This trick can get it fired up in about a minute or less. I’ll perfect the technique before attempting a video. Thank you so much to the viewer who suggested this. I’ll be sure to mention you in the description. I’ve made the disclaimer many times that I am not an expert. I’m just having fun learning stuff and sharing it on YouTube. Thanks again to all who support me in this effort.

This is the little guy or gal that will not shut up for a second this time of year in my part of the country. The cicada. Some people call them locusts. Whatever. They are constantly trilling during the day, with very little pause. But honestly. They blend in well with the other sounds of the outdoors. I don’t think I would want to shut them up if I could.

Hello everyone. It is HOT in Louisiana. The heat has really curtailed my outdoor activities. It seems as though we went from winter to summer without any spring weather. I am looking forward to fall and hopefully some fall camping. Thanks to all my subscribers who support my channel. I hope y’all are as comfortable as can be if y’all are in this heat I am in. Take care.

Hello Everyone. I’ve been trying to add more outdoor to Joe’s Outdoor Places. I’ve been stuck in the fire niche ever since it helped me monetize the channel. It’s become a comfort zone. You may have noticed a few more walks, and I just added a short on the sassafras tree. I’ve passed up some great camping opportunities. I really want to do more of it. And I will. I also want to add some cooking. I have an idea I want to try using canned food, spicing it up around the campfire. I’m gathering ingredients and hopefully will have something out soon. Thank y’all for your support, your comments, and your friendship. Take care.
