Hegel goes really well with Totem, having tried Bison towers with my H390. Something about the resolution of Hegel and gutsiness and the tone of these speakers is a very good match. Trying out the new Totem Loon speakers atm (in walnut).
The wood cabinets are genuinely the best finished speakers I’ve had in terms of the way they use beaded edges and so no join lines in the veneers where with some speakers the edges fray over time, or the edges become more apparent with their white lines.

Having a go at recreating Bluesound’s Node X advert in 3D in Blender with molten metal effects, just as a practise.
For enquiries of 3d work and videos please contact me - I can do them at good prices.

I’m having a break and thinking about how, if at all, I can try and do more content on this channel that pays - I’m thinking maybe I should have a go at selling but instead of opinion pieces - just product walkthroughs.
Hifi is about music and this is a piece of music I love, which I’ve put to drone footage. If you like my videography, sign up to this new channel of mine to get videos as they come out. Drone Walks is just a hobby channel.

Looks like HiFi Racks have gone under. Can’t say I’m that surprised….
Companies house (uk) shows they have appointed liquidators.
These were really expensive racks that I suspect could not shoulder price increases, being high in price already, with the energy crisis and war in Ukraine etc. Also wood costs. Dubious build quality (in some situations) too, per my video I made.
Sad but probably not unusual in this climate.
A long term review of HiFi Racks Podium rack

*Poll on system matching streamer transports*
Just interested in peoples views on this question as a bit of research for a video I’m doing……
So far as streaming transports are concerned and the mantra ‘junk in junk out’ what combined value of your speakers, amplification and DAC benefits spending £3000 on something like an Auralic Aries G1.1 for a sound quality aim (pick the one that you think fits the best)

A link to an article about the Cambridge Audio CXN100 versus the old V2 model, on my website. www.13thnote.net/2024/04/02/cambridge-audio-cxn100…
What would you buy if you were in the market for choosing between these two products - the Eversolo or the Cambridge ?

I share video experiences of audio in an ENGAGING and WELL MADE WAY. I don't believe Hi-Fi should be presented in a solely technical and perfunctory way, because HiFi is a means to an end of faithfully produced music and music is entertainment!
I like to promote the expansion of HiFi to new audiophiles, as well as existing ones, and this is why I make well produced, non alien videos.
I believe that ALL REVIEWS must be comparison based to have value. In this sense I’m a strong proponent of getting to the bottom of products for brands to reach USP’s, and consumers to get you what you want.
