Hi! I’m Allan and I’m happy you have found me here in You Tube world.
I was always singing in bed as a toddler and I eventually picked up a guitar in my teens and began to write what I could hear in my head. I wrote my first official song in 1984.
I’ve always enjoyed stories and ballads and my very early influences were Marty Robbins, John Denver, The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel and of course Elvis! I was inspired by the new wave of Country artists such as Robert Earl Keen Jr, Dwight Yoakum and Steve Earle. I also enjoyed a lot of Bob Dylan, fell in love with Gram and Emmylou and admired the great John Prine.
So many great times largely spent playing music either as a solo artist, in duo’s or bands and I have always endeavoured to play my own material. I have a large collection that are very personal to me.
My brother Matthew suggested i start a page where I can share my songs in a simple way.
I thought it was a nice idea! So here I am!
