Someone asked me why sleep?

I lived far from school. I'd spend the first lesson of each day with my head in my hands. I was consistently a zombie.๐ง

โข I needed more sleep than those around me to function
โข My hangovers were on another level compared to my peers
โข Any trips/travel sharing a room with someone was a disaster for me
โข I was awoken very easily and had issues coping the next day if done so

โข As time passed, I hated active weekends as I needed that time to catch up on sleep
โข Mornings were a pain, I was a top performer but you'd rarely see me in earlier than 09:00
โข Holidays I just wanted to sleep and I skipped on any early incursions or late nights out.
โข Any holiday or travel, having my own room was a non negotiable. I paid 1k Euros on a ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ company trip once to ensure I had my own hotel room.
๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฌ:
โข I felt like shit most the time
โข I'd wake up at 3am every day in a cold sweat
โข My sleep got progressively worse leading me to full on insomnia
โข To get an ok nights sleep, I'd often need to spend 11-12 hours in bed
The greatest pain I felt during this whole time was being so inconsistent. Which Matt turned up any given day felt like a dice roll. ๐ฒ

Had I not figured out from a deep level how to fix my issues, I might not be here now.
Given that 20-30% of the population are on anti depressants and/or sleeping pills (the 2 are normally the same thing). I know my story isn't the only one.

This was 'after' the worst of my insomnia. It is a rough place to be.
You are left thinking often 'Is this my life now?'
To get a week with the lowest score being 83 would have been a dream. ๐

โข I woke up a few times this week to pee during the night. I know why. I've not been drinking enough water during the mornings. Hence I'm often overcompensating in the evening. It didn't wreck my sleep, but it isn't optimal.
