I'm still alive.
Friends, this year, post PMW, has been a absolute mess, from a technical, home life, and health perspective. I'm doing fine and don't want to go in to a ton of details, but I gotta be honest, creativity has been hard to come by over the last few months. I hope you guys enjoy what I've been putting out, even if it's been at an even slower rate than usual.
I've been doing much better over the last few weeks, and am knee deep into one of the more interesting stories I've worked on in a while. If you watch my streams on Twitch, you know about the Robotech Defenders Zoltek, that is really a Dougram from Fang of the Sun Dougram, that I built earlier in the year. I'm finally at a point where I have an interesting story to tell about it, and the licensing chaos it was born out of, and how all of that led to modern anime as we know it. It's hella fascinating and I can't wait to show it to you all.
I'm taking a short break from streaming model builds on Twitch this week to work heavily on the new video, so streams will be sporadic. But if I am working on the video on my computer, I'll have the stream up and running as well, so you all can see the process! I really hope you join in on twitch.tv/badgunpla when I am on, either for this or for future build streams, which should resume as normal next week.

I’m still here. We made it through PMW last month, and with your help, we raised over $12,000 for CAF!!
Twelve. Thousand. Freaking. Dollars. That’s unheard of in this hobby. Thank you so much for coming out and supporting the event.
It wasn’t perfect, and I didn’t expect it to not only consume two months of my free time before the event, but almost a month of it AFTER as well. The logistics of organizing prize shipment with the largest giveaway pool we’ve ever done, shipping merch, and providing resources to presenters has been a monumental task. I’m only now seeing the light at the end of that tunnel. Good news is all prizes and merch have been delivered , save for one that has been returned due to a typo on the address and another due to international shipping weirdness.
I hope you all understand that this is largely just *me* doing this stuff. My mod team and Falldog have been an immense help, but the reality is that the actual logistics of shipping and organizing has fallen on me to get done, on top of a full time IRL job and other commitments.
With all that, my creative brain is shot. I agreed with my mod team to take a couple weeks off streaming to get my head on straight and get my creativity back. Basically, I’m not streaming again until either the 25th or my next video is done - whichever is later.
I’m incredibly proud of PMW. Incredibly proud of this community. And I can promise there will be a PMW2X22. And I’ll have a full team of individuals to handle things like marketing, tech, shipping/logistics, etc. so I don’t break my back doing it myself. We learned a TON about running a full-scale charity event…and as I’m typing this out, that might make for an interesting video in and of itself…but one thing at a time ;)
I just wanted to stop by and say THANK YOU for your support of the event, and your patience as I work my way back to making Good Content. I hope to see you all in the comments again real, real soon.

Man, has it REALLY been ALMOST TWO MONTHS since the last video?! What the hell!? That's slow, even for me!
Friends, the home situation was insane for all of February, and frankly, I should have kept you all more up to date. Between weird tech bugs, to winter storms that froze over my whole ass state, to simple creative burnout due to a lack of free time between home and work life, it's been nuts. It's amazing how a few days without power during a bad storm can absolutely bury you with work after it's over..
Things finally started to slow down a couple weeks ago, where we could begin working on our most ambitious event yet, PLASTIC MODEL WEEKENDER!
If you've follow me elsewhere, you likely already know about this event, but since my biggest audience is still here on Youtube, I thought it would be good to post a small teaser about as things begin to fall into place. I'm so unbelievably excited to put this on for the ENTIRE hobby community, and I really, really hope you'll join us.

I know it's been a while, but I hope being in survival mode for a week at least gives me a BIT of an excuse. Looking forward to posting more Good Content soon!

Hey everyone. Had a whole bunch of video stuff planned this week and last week. Mother Nature said no.
Going on day 3 with no power now. We’re sheltering at a friends house that’s had power in short bursts, but it’s been off here all night as well.
We’re definitely in survival mode at this point. We’ve got some dry food left and drinking water. Biggest concern for me personally - where we are has 2 large dogs. Anyone that knows me knows how bad my allergies are. Asthma will likely set in soon, so the time we can spend here is directly proportional to how long my asthma holds out.
Which means that I’m going to hold off on updating again until the power is back and this situation gets under control - which may not be until Friday. We’ll get through this just fine. See you soon friends.

It’s been a slow few weeks for me on this channel, I know. Over a month since the last major video. But I’m working on a new four-part series with the first part out within a few days. If you follow my shenanigans elsewhere, you may already know what it is, but in case you don’t, I’ll be exploring a simple question:
With so many new entry level offerings of the RX-78, why would anyone buy the HG RX-78 Gundam (Revive) today?
The team and I are also gearing up for a big stream event that was originally supposed to happen in November, but got pushed back due to a multi-week outage with my ISP. We are currently targeting mid April for the event, and we’ll have more details very soon.

As for me, I was dealing with migraines from Friday to this morning, after a week plus of brain fog and blurred vision(???). Was freaky, but I’m doing much better now. Better than I have in a while, I’m fact. Thanks for sticking by me after yet another weird week!!
I’m so glad that people are watching the One Day Builds! I’ve been having a lot of fun making them and the streams (on Twitch now since YouTube streaming is a mess at the best of times) have been a blast. Had to cut the last one on Sunday before it really got started because of said migraines, but we’ll be doing the HG Origin Gundam on Sunday!
That build will lead in to a video I’m VERY excited about, covering the more recent RX-78 variants, and trying to answer the question: “who would buy the RX-78 Revive at this point?”

Hey everyone,
Due to technical issues beyond my control, we have made the difficult decision to delay Plastic Model Weekender until early 2021.
Ongoing internet problems have made it impossible for us to guarantee a high quality event at this time, as troubleshooting the ongoing network issues at Badgunpla HQ has cut deeply into our project deadlines. Pushing forward at this point would be reckless and risk the integrity of the event, its presenters, and its sponsors. We believe that it is in the best interest of everyone involved to put the event on hold until the time comes where we are comfortable that we can deliver on our promise of an amazing build event for the wider Gunpla/Plamo community to come together around.
Speaking for myself - PMW, and the issues surrounding it, has taken a heavy toll on myself as a content creator. I have not put out much of any content - Youtube, Twitch, or otherwise - in well over a month now. Every night at Badgunpla HQ has been endless technical troubleshooting, which on top of IRL work and other things, has completely sapped my creativity.
I’ve always said that I don’t care about the viewership numbers, but I do care about the community I create for. Which is why, for the sake of health of my community, and for my own mental health, I am making another difficult decision and putting streams on hold until mid-November.
I don’t want to have one or two good days on my end, announce to the world that everything is fine, only to have everything fall apart again and just begin the cycle anew. I’m going to take this time to focus on two things - my videos and my sanity.
Videomaking has been my passion. It’s why I got into this hobby as hard as I did. And right now, that creativity is just not where it needs to be. The tech is, the tools are there, but I really want and need to hunker down and just create things I find fun again. I’ve been streaming for over four years without a personal break, and I think a little extra time to focus my creativity will really help the long-term health of my channels and this community.
I really appreciate all of your kind words over the last few weeks and months. You guys mean the world to me, and I will do everything in my power to get us to come back stronger than ever. I want to reiterate, I’m not going anywhere. I’ll be in Discord a lot more, and if all goes well, we’ll have a few new videos thanks to you all’s suggestions. I look forward to chatting with you all more in the Discord, and I can’t wait to show you what fun stuff I have planned for the Youtube. I just need some time to get my head on straight.
