After a LONG and DESPERATE search for the wonderful Tajik folk music I heard on "Traditional Music Channel", I found this obscure Japanese CD from the 90's online and snatched up a copy! Album and track details are featured on all 16 videos (with spelling correction as needed), which have also been compiled into a playlist for convenient listening.
My personal favorite singer of the bunch is Jurabek Murodov, a Tajik legend whose own son Jonibek is also a musician in Tajikistan (although he is much more modern than his father).
No, I'm not Tajik, nor am I from anywhere in Central Asia. I just love me some great folk music wherever I can get it. And even though it's a pain in the ass that Traditional Music Channel never credits the artists, I have to give it to him for putting out such great music that drives me to dumpster dive all over the internet like a madman just to find out more about it, and maybe even snatch up albums myself.

Well, apparently, YouTube got the bright idea to make liked videos permanently private. For what reason, I could not say. And I've tried every one of the most recent workarounds to make mine public again without success. Those of you who follow me for my likes, I don't know what to tell you. At least you can see my occasional playlist additions and subscriptions to know I'm still alive.
